The plastics industry continues to grow in production and processing

Plastic, a great innovation of the 20th century, is now turning into a global concern for our environment and health. The latest study reveals that the production and processing of plastics is growing at an alarming rate, with dire consequences for our land and seas.

According to this study, plastic production has doubled in the last 20 years, making it one of the main sources of environmental pollution. In the future, it is expected that plastic will take a significant part of oil resources, adding even more pressure on our environment.

At the same time, efforts to recycle plastics are proving to be less effective than expected. The plastics industry has promoted recycling as a possible solution, but in reality, this is difficult to achieve in practice. Major companies have been accused of not taking responsibility for the rise in plastic pollution, making the problem even deeper.

In this regard, the study reveals a direct link between plastic production and increased environmental pollution. Some of the largest companies contribute the most pollution, thus deepening environmental problems.

For the future, a continuous spread of plastic pollution in the world's oceans is predicted, causing great damage to ecosystems and to human health. This situation requires urgent and effective action.

The researchers' recommendations include reducing the use of plastic and promoting sustainable alternatives. At the same time, it is necessary to set clear goals for the gradual reduction of dangerous and unstable plastics.

The need for a fundamental change in the way we use and produce plastic is imperative to protect the environment and global health.
